I spent two happy years living in Haiti as a small child and my family still has friends there today. It's hard to imagine having been there in a time like this.
If you're one of the many glued to your television for the latest news and images of the terrible suffering in Haiti, I hope you'll consider donating to one of the various organizations working on relief efforts. There is widespread destruction to homes, hospitals, schools, government buildings, roads, and lives. Immediate support is needed to provide food, shelter, and other relief supplies.

Visit http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2007/impact/ and http://www.clintonfoundation.org/haitiearthquake/ to find an organization that needs your support. Please give to organizations that are already on the ground in Haiti and that can provided what is most needed in these critical first few days.

A-ring ding ding

Think that sparkler on your finger deserves a wider audience? Or are you not-quite-engaged-just-yet and want to do a little real-life window shopping? Head on over to Martha Stewart Weddings and check the engagement ring gallery - where you can upload photos of your own ring and share stories of your proposal. I just lost 30 minutes browsing through all the pictures - it's like a night gabbing with the girls while you're sitting at your computer. Yikes, I need to get out more.

Flickr Find

I took a wrong turn somewhere while searching on Flickr for a picture (movie-star inspiration to prove myself that my new bangs are indeed as glamorous as I think they are). I searched "Reese Witherspoon". Somehow I came across this. . . Ok. Not Reese, but Spanish model Laura Ponte at her 2004 wedding to Luis Beltrán Ataulfo Alfonso Gómez-Acebo y Borbón (son of Infanta Pilar, Duchess of Badajoz, and the nephew of King Juan Carlos I of Spain. Duh.)I just love the simplicity and sleekness of the gown (designed by Miguel Palacio) contrasting with such an intricate veil. Gorgeous.

Ok back to the bangs search. Let's see what "Zooey Deschanel" turns up.
