Better than a postcard

I read this post over at Design Sponge and just went gaga. As a part of their new inspiration/creation segment, the D*S gals make a muse out of a picturesque Italian getaway that results in a gorgeous arrangement of flowers.

It's great to be reminded that inspiration can come from absolutely anywhere.

Yes, this is clearly the cake Rainbow Brite would have chosen should she have gotten married (to my knowledge, she remains a bachelorette). But I can't help it, I think it's kind of fabulous. Les amants de l'Avre

Les amants de l'Avre est un petit roman consacré à la vie conjugale. Sur l'intuition de mon épouse, il m'a semblé intéressant de travailler sur l'histoire au long cours d'un couple. Alice et Charles se sont rencontrés dans la petite enfance, dans une vallée perdue. Ce qui n'était alors qu'une amitié de jeunesse a conduit à autres chose. Séparés par la vie, dans ce qu'elle recèle souvent de brutalité, ils ont pris des chemins différents mais ce sont recroisés.
Comment construire un amour sur 50 ans ? Quels en sont les failles, les pièges et les joies ? A travers ce récit à deux voix, Les amants de l'Avre propose un peu plus qu'un roman. C'est une manière d'interpeller notre propre idée du mariage, des joies et des peines de la vie à deux, dans un chemin qui peut nous conduire jusqu'au grand départ.
Au sein de cette histoire, la Parole de Dieu n'est pas absente. Elle habite le discernement de l'un et de l'autre, conduit à des choix et des interpellations. En cela, ce livre est un peu plus qu'un roman... Une autre manière d'envisager la vie conjugale...

Counting the days

T-19 days until we're spending the first weekend of the season at "the shore" and I can't wait! I just saw this pic of Zooey on weheartit and it reminded me of the gorgeous vintage-inspired swimsuits I saw online at Anthropologie. Love. And somebody just-so happens to have an Anthro gift card burning a hole in her pocket, courtesy of her fabulous in-laws. Lucky me!

Stemware

You can call me conservative, but I have never been a fan of the garter toss at weddings. The whole thing just makes me avert my eyes. Until I set my eyes on this provocative little number. . .
Does it not make you do a double-take? A chic alternative to what you you usually find out there. If you must garter, then I suggest something along these lines, designed by La Boheme. Thanks to The Brides Cafe for pointing it out!
